…Since the construction of the Zhengguo Canal connecting the Jing River and the Luo River in 246 BC, the Baichu Canal connecting the Jing River and the Wei River was built in 95 BC (Taishi 2) during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, and the Longshou Canal, which runs through Shangyan Mountain and combines a tunnel and a well, was also built. After the Tang Dynasty, excavation did not progress and many of the canals were abandoned due to the accumulation of sediment, but in 1935 the Jinghui Canal was opened, and many other canals, including the Weihui Canal, were built after the liberation, completing the agricultural water supply and irrigation network.
