...In winter, high temperature areas caused by temperature inversions can be seen on the slopes at an altitude of 100 to 300 meters. This is used to cultivate mandarin oranges, including old varieties such as Fukuremikan and Unshu mandarin oranges. The cattails of Mount Tsukuba are also famous nationwide for their catchphrase "The Cattail Oil Seller," and a cattail festival is held every year in early August in the grounds of Mount Tsukuba Shrine. Mount Tsukuba is known for its beautiful mountain shape, often referred to as "Fuji in the West, Tsukuba in the East." Two gods, male and female, Tsukuba Okami (Izanaki) and Tsukuba Okami (Izanami), are enshrined on the two peaks at the top of the mountain, and Tsukubasan Shrine, which enshrines the two gods, is located halfway up the mountain.
