Sunpuki - Sunpuki

Japanese:
Sunpuki - Sunpuki

A record of the early Edo period. One volume. Also called "Sunpu Seijiroku." It is written in classical Chinese and records the activities of Tokugawa Ieyasu from 1611 (Keicho 16) after he handed over the position of Shogun to Hidetada and retired to Sunpu (Shizuoka City) until December 1615 (Genwa 1), four months before his death. The writer is said to be either Goto Shozaburo (Mitsutsugu) or Hayashi Doshun (Razan), but in any case, he was certainly a close aide to Ieyasu and a man of considerable learning. For this reason, the articles are highly reliable and are important historical materials for research on this period. Included in "Shiseki Zassan" 2, "Sengoku Shiryo Sosho" Ieyasu Shiryoshu, and "Shiseki Shuran" 10 (omitted).
