Haikai Senshu (Collection of Haikai Poems). 17 volumes, 5 books. Compiled by Shigeyori. Published in 1633 (Kan'ei 10). The first haiku anthology in the early modern period. Chikashige and Shigeyori started the compilation under the guidance of Teitoku, but a disagreement arose between the editors, and Shigeyori published it alone. Volumes 1-6 contain hokku, volumes 7-15 contain tsukeku, volume 16 and onwards contain Gyocho haiku and others, and volume 5 contains "Johkohaikai" (excerpts from "Tsukubashu") by Tsurayuki and others. It boasts the tradition and authority of haiku, and at the same time, it fully explodes with the energy of haiku, which is literature for the new era. After that, haiku rapidly became popular.

俳諧撰集(はいかいせんしゅう)。17巻5冊。重頼(しげより)編。1633年（寛永10）刊。近世最初の俳諧撰集。初め親重(ちかしげ)、重頼の2人が貞徳(ていとく)の指導のもとに編纂(へんさん)に着手したが、編者間に意見の対立が生じ、重頼が1人で刊行した。巻1～6に発句、巻7～15に付句、巻16以下に魚鳥(ぎょちょう)俳諧ほか、第5冊に貫之(つらゆき)らの「上古誹諧」（『菟玖波集(つくばしゅう)』からの抜粋）を収め、俳諧の伝統と権威を誇るとともに、新しい時代の文芸である俳諧のもつエネルギーを遺憾なく爆発させている。以後俳諧は急速に流行する。
