A Korean court instrument. A seven-stringed zither played with strings made from sticks made from the bark of forsythia branches. As described in the Goryeo History Music Journal, it was originally a Chinese instrument, and the Chinese zither was introduced to the Goryeo dynasty. However, around the 15th century during the reign of King Sejong of the Yi dynasty, it began to be used in local music ensembles. There are two tuning methods: Tang music style and local music style.
