Populaire European Party (English)

...On the other hand, in Latin America, Christian democratic parties in Chile and Venezuela are influential, and both have held political power. In 1956, 19 Christian democratic parties in Western Europe formed an international organization called the Union of Christian Democrats in Europe (Union Européenne Démocrate Chrétienne), and in the European Parliament they formed a unified faction called the European People's Party (Parti Populaire Européen). Latin America also has its own international organizations, but it also has a global organization called the World Union of Christian Democrats (Union Mondiale Démocrate‐Chrétienne).
