Altitude above sea level -
Height above mean sea level. When flying within a flight area, it is usually convenient to set the altitude of the altimeter based on takeoff or landing, but this is only a relative altitude, and becomes meaningless when you leave the area. For this reason, it is convenient to set the altitude to sea level as well, especially when flying cross-country.

平均海水面からの高さ。フライトエリア内での飛行の場合、普通、テイクオフまたはランディングを基準にアルチメーターの高度を合わせた方が便利であるが、あくまでも相対高度であって、エリアを離れた場合、意味が無くなってしまう。この為、特にクロスカントリー飛行を行う場合、高度設定は海抜高度にもセットしておくと便利。
