Aurerianum - Aurerianum

…Before the Roman conquest, there was already a Gallic settlement of Genabum, inhabited by the Romans. It was destroyed during Caesar's Gallic campaign (52 BC) but was rebuilt and later became Aurelianum after the Roman Emperor Aurelianus, and a bishopric was established there in the early 4th century. The present name is derived from this.
