...It was founded by Sasaki Chisato, former manager of the Tamakiza Theatre in Asakusa, and its original members included Nakane Ryutaro, Ishida Kiyoshi, Fujio Jun, Arima Korema, Mori Yukinao, Mishima Ken (Soganoka Gorohachi), Takechi Toyoko (Takechi Moriko), and Hagoromo Utako. Around the same time, Enoken's new theater company, Pierre Brilliant, was launched at the Asakusa Opera House, and in 1957, it began to perform regularly at the Shochikuza Theatre, the largest theater in Asakusa, and soon the company's name changed to Enoken Ichiza. In this way, light theater expanded its audience throughout Tokyo, attempting parodies of established serious theater, capturing an audience of office workers, students, and writers in Shinjuku, and gaining fans among the working class in Asakusa. ...

…もと浅草･玉木座の支配人，佐々木千里が主宰し，発足時の座員は中根竜太郎，石田清，藤尾純，有馬是馬，毛利幸尚，三島謙(曾我廼家五郎八)，武智豊子(武知杜代子)，羽衣歌子といった顔ぶれである。これと前後して，浅草オペラ館に，エノケンの新しい劇団〈ピエル･ブリアント〉が旗揚げし，あくる32年には，浅草最大の劇場である松竹座で常打ちすることになり，やがて看板も〈エノケン一座〉となった。こうして軽演劇は，東京全域に客層を広げ，既成のマジメ演劇のパロディを試み，新宿ではサラリーマン，学生，文士などの客層をつかみ，浅草では労働者層のファンを獲得した。…
