tenû (English spelling) tenu

Japanese: tenû(英語表記)tenu
tenû (English spelling) tenu

[Composition and Usage]
Cuneiform characters are written from left to right, and text is usually written within pre-drawn lines. When analyzing the structure of archaic cuneiform characters, the original form of cuneiform characters, its method of construction is similar to that of the six scripts of Chinese characters, namely pictographic, ideographic, dactylic, phono-semantic, loaned, and transliterated. However, there are also known unique Sumerian character-making methods, such as adding multiple lines to existing characters (gunû), tilting existing characters (tenû), and crossing two existing characters of the same name (gilimû) (Figure 3). In pictographs, there is a strong tendency to express the characteristic parts of an object in an abstract way.
