…A Swiss psychiatrist who first coined the term “schizophrenia.” He served as the third chair of psychiatry at the University of Zurich for 30 years and won international fame in many areas. His most notable work, Dementia Praderica or Schizophrenia, published in 1911, had a wide and profound impact as it rearranged the disease concept that E. Kraepelin had constructed based on the course and outcome of the disease into a psychological symptomology.
