Japanese: ガル･アノニム（英語表記）Gall Anonim

Author of the oldest surviving Polish Chronicle (1112-16). He lived between the late 11th and early 12th centuries. His birth and death years are unknown. There are no historical documents remaining about his career, and even his name remains unknown. For convenience, "Gal Anonymus" is a Polish translation of the Latin "Galus Anonymus," which was used in the 16th century and means "an unknown Frenchman." However, based on the contents of the Chronicle, it is speculated that he was a Benedictine monk at the Abbey of Saint-Gilles in Provence.

現存する最古の《ポーランド年代記》(1112‐16)の著者。11世紀後半から12世紀前半の人。生没年不詳。その経歴については史料が何も残っておらず，名前すら不明なままである。〈ガル･アノニム〉は便宜上，16世紀に使われた〈無名のフランス人〉を意味するラテン語〈ガルス･アノニムス〉をポーランド風に呼びかえたものである。ただし《年代記》の内容から，プロバンス地方にあったベネディクト派のサン･ジル修道院の修道士であったと推測されている。
