Naimān (English spelling)
A Turkic nomadic tribe active in the foothills of the Altai Mountains from the 10th to the 13th century, their culture is closer to the Uighurs than to China, including their writing system. They were defeated and destroyed by Genghis Khan in 1204. They were temporarily restored when Kuchluk defeated the Kara-Khitai, but were destroyed in 1218 and absorbed into the Ogedei Khanate.

文字をはじめ，文化的には中国よりウイグルに近い。1204年チンギス＝ハンに敗れて壊滅。クチュルクがカラ−キタイを討って一時復興したが，1218年滅亡し，オゴタイ−ハン国に吸収された。
