World (geology) - Kai (English spelling) erathem

The largest division of rocks and strata in geological time. The strata and rocks formed in the Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras are called the Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic, respectively. A kingdom is a combination of several systems; for example, the Mesozoic is made up of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous systems.

地質時代における地層や岩石のもっとも大きい区分単位。先カンブリア時代、古生代、中生代、新生代に形成された地層や岩石を、それぞれ先カンブリア界、古生界、中生界、新生界とよぶ。界は系をいくつか寄せ合わせたもので、たとえば中生界は三畳系、ジュラ系、白亜系からなる。
