It borders Fuchu City across the Tama River. In the past, it was a key location on the Kamakura Kaido road, and a checkpoint was set up there. *Shogun Shikken-shidai (around 1334) Genko 3rd year "May 14th, Shogen Nyudo Yasuie, _{the two} great shoguns, _{one on one,} _{and the} _{other in} Bushu Sekido Battle" [2] Noh play. A certain Hayakawa from Shimotsuke province, whose son Tota was taken hostage by Sekido Hyogo due to a grudge over his territory, instead captured Sekido's son Hanawaka and attacked Sekido's mansion, setting Hanawaka in the face of an arrow. Sekido then repented and made peace .

A small rice cake made of red bean paste wrapped in gyuhi and sprinkled with wasanbon (fine white sugar). It is modeled after the white snow on the Suzuka Mountains.

[1] 〘名〙① 関所の門。関所の戸。せきのと。※書紀（720）宣化元年五月（寛文版訓）「筑紫の国は遐(とほ)く邇(ちか)く朝(まう)て届(いた)る所、去来(ゆきき)の関門(セキト)にする所なり」※謡曲・蟻通（1430頃）「現に出づる旅枕、夜の関戸の明け暮れに、都の空の月影を」② 香木の名。分類は伽羅(きゃら)。※志野宗信筆記（香道秘伝所収）（1501か）「関戸(セキト)は蘭奢待に似たる香なり」[2][一] 東京都多摩市北部の地名。多摩川を隔てて府中市に接する。古くは鎌倉街道の要地で、関所が置かれていた。※将軍執権次第（1334頃か）元弘三年「五月十四日、将監入道泰家為_二大将軍_一向_二武州関戸_一合戦」[二] 謡曲。四番目物。作者不詳。別名「関戸早川」。所領のうらみから関戸兵庫に子の藤太を人質としてとられた下野国の早川某は、反対に関戸の子花若を捕えて関戸の館を襲い、その矢おもてに花若を立てる。そこで関戸は悔い改めて和睦(わぼく)する。
