A collection of folk songs compiled by German poets Av. Arnim and C. Brentano. 3 volumes. Published between 1805 and 1808. The two collected ancient German religious songs, handicraft songs, work songs, and other songs with the intention of awakening the nation's literary traditions and encouraging love for their country. They included adaptations and their own original compositions, and although Goethe recommended the collection, scholars attacked it. However, their achievement of rescuing folk songs that were on the verge of being lost was great, and it had an immeasurable influence on later poetry.

ドイツの詩人 A.v.アルニムと C.ブレンターノが編集した民謡集。3巻。 1805～08年刊。2人は国民の文学的伝統への覚醒，祖国に対する愛情を呼起そうと意図して，ドイツ古来の宗教歌，手工歌，労働歌などを集めた。そのため改作やみずからの創作を加えてあり，ゲーテには推奨されたが，学者たちからは攻撃された。しかし失われかけた民謡を救い出した功績は大きく，後世の詩にはかりしれない影響を与えた。
