Onga River Plain

...It includes small basins such as Iizuka (Kaho) and Tagawa, and numerous narrow, long valley plains spread out like trees along the river system. The deltaic lowlands extending 3 to 8 km east to west and 20 km north to south downstream from Nogata are sometimes called the Onga River Plain. Based on the distribution of shell mounds, it is estimated that the river once was a seabed several dozen km from its mouth in Ashiya, and the riverbed slope of the Onga River is only 1/8000 to 1/10000.
