Aurochs

Japanese: オーロックス
Aurochs
〘Noun〙 (aurochs) An extinct species of mammal in the bovidae family. It is believed to be the ancestor of European domestic cattle. In prehistoric times, it was widely distributed in Europe, western Asia, and northern Africa, but its population gradually decreased, and the last recorded specimen was found in Poland in 1627. It was about 1.8 meters tall, and its horns first point sideways, then curve upwards and forwards, with the tips pointing upwards. The males are black, while the females and young are brown, with a white vertical stripe running down the midline of their backs.
