The language of the Orok people. A Tungusic language spoken in the northern and central parts of Sakhalin Island, it is generally classified as the southern group. It has about 3,400 speakers. It is also called Uilta. It is close to Nanai and Orcha. Phonologically, it has vowel harmony. Morphologically, nouns, numerals, pronouns, and verbs undergo inflection by suffixing the stem. It has also come into contact with Japanese, and has loanwords from Japanese, such as masaari (axe), musuri (mat), and satu (sugar).

オロッコ族の言語。ツングース語の一つで，サハリン島北部と中部に話され，一般にその南方群に分類される。話し手は約 3400人。ウイルタ語ともいう。ナーナイ語，オルチャ語に近い。音韻面では母音調和がみられる。形態面では，名詞，数詞，代名詞，動詞において語幹に語尾が接尾して語形替変が行われる。日本語との接触もあり，masaari (まさかり) ，musuri (筵〈むしろ〉) ，satu (砂糖) など，日本語からの借用語がある。
