Red clay - Sekinendo (English spelling)
Extremely pelagic red or brown sediments, concentrated in the ocean at great depths and great distances from land. The clay content is similar to that of blue mud and globigerina ooze and is probably of terrestrial origin. Pyroclastic deposits are common, often in the form of zeolite crystals. Hard nodules of manganese, iron oxides and meteoric material are present.
