Born: June 19, 1865, Hanover [Died] March 12, 1951, Keukenburg. German businessman and politician. He was a Prussian civil servant, but in 1907 he entered the business world and became manager of the Frankfurt Mining Bank. He was then invited to become an executive at Krupp, and in 1927 he became president of Ufa, and later acquired control of German newspapers, forming the Hugenberg Conzern. In 1928 he entered politics as leader of the right-wing German National People's Party, representing the interests of the Junkers and the old heavy industry capital. In January 1933, Hitler was plotting an alliance with him during the Great Depression, and he joined Hitler's cabinet as Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Economics, but he was ousted in June as the Nazi dictatorship progressed, and the National People's Party was dissolved.
