Hiroshi Okumura
1889-1964 A Western-style painter from the Taisho and Showa periods.
Born October 4, 1889. His wife was Hiratsuka Raicho. He studied at the Japan Watercolor Association Institute and later switched to oil painting. His work "Gray Sea" was selected for the Nikaten Exhibition in 1914. He was also known as the creator of the finger ring, and in 1933 he won an award in the crafts division and became a member of the Kokugakai. He passed away on February 18, 1964. He was 74 years old. He was born in Kanagawa Prefecture. His works include "Encounter."
