Melibe vexillifera (English spelling)

...These horns are what gave them the name sea slug. Some species, such as the blue sea slug Hyselodoris festiva (illustration), have a smooth blue surface, while others, such as the silver sea slug Aeolidiella takanosimensis (illustration), have many projections lined up on their backs, like a horn. The centipede Melibe vexillifera (illustration) has particularly large projections on its back, which are easily torn off but can regenerate. Some species have feather-like gills surrounding the anus at the rear of their backs.
