Born October 8, 1930. Became a professor at Nagoya University in 1967. In 1966, he discovered that the genetic material DNA is replicated discontinuously, and in 1968, he proposed this as the Okazaki model, attracting attention. He died of leukemia on August 1, 1975, due to exposure to the atomic bomb in Hiroshima when he was in his second year of junior high school. He was 44 years old. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture.
