...An evergreen tall tree of the Proteaceae family native to South Africa, with beautiful, dense, silvery-white leaves. It is used as a garden tree in South Africa, but in Japan, where there is a lot of rain in the summer, the roots are prone to rot and it is difficult to grow. The leaves are lanceolate with dense silky hairs on both sides, about 7 cm long and 2 cm wide, have no petioles and are closely attached to the branches. As it grows in arid areas, the leaves are hard and do not fall off easily, so old leaves remain all the way to the base of the branches and the entire tree is covered in leaves.
