Hirado Chronicle - Heikoki

Japanese: 平戸記 - へいこき

This is the diary of Taira Tsunetaka (1180-1255), an aristocrat and councilor and minister of civil affairs in the early Kamakura period. The title of the diary was later taken from one character each of the Minister's Chinese name, Tobe Shosho, and the name Taira. Currently, only seven years' worth of the diary are known, from Ansei 1 (1227) to Kangen 4 (1246). The only copies remaining are thought to have been written in the late Kamakura period or during the Nanboku-cho period, but as there are almost no other diaries from the same period, it is a valuable historical document.

鎌倉時代前期の貴族，参議民部卿平経高 (1180～1255) の日記。民部卿の唐名の戸部尚書と，平氏との名称からそれぞれ1字をとって後人が日記名とした。現在知られている部分は，安貞1 (1227) 年から寛元4 (46) 年までのうち，わずか7年分である。現在では鎌倉時代末期か南北朝時代の書写と思われる写本しかないが，同時代にほかの日記がほとんどないため貴重な史料である。
