Public Facilities - Ooyakenoshisetu
Facilities installed by local governments for the purpose of promoting the welfare of residents and for their use. Examples include sports facilities (athletic fields, gymnasiums, swimming pools, etc.), educational and cultural facilities (museums, art galleries, libraries, etc.), social welfare facilities (nurseries, elderly welfare facilities, etc.), public enterprises (water supply and sewerage, public hospitals, etc.), as well as public housing, parks, roads, and parking lots. This does not include government offices and testing facilities that are not available to residents, horse racing tracks and bicycle racing tracks that are not intended to promote welfare, and facilities installed by public organizations other than local governments, such as the national government.

地方公共団体が、住民の福祉を増進する目的で、住民の利用に供するために設置する施設。体育施設(運動場・体育館・プールなど)、教育文化施設(博物館・美術館・図書館など)、社会福祉施設(保育所・老人福祉施設など)、公営企業(上下水道・公立病院など)のほか、公営住宅・公園・道路・駐車場などがこれにあたる。庁舎や試験施設など住民の利用に供しないもの、競馬場や競輪場など福祉増進を目的としないもの、国など地方公共団体以外の公共団体が設置するものは含まれない。
