Oomakoma - Oomakoma

...This legend was originally a type of myth about two hunters called Jiro and Saburo, one of whom assisted the mountain god and was given game in return, while the other refused and lost the bounty of the mountain. The same type of legend is told as the tale of the conflict between Oomakoma in Kyushu and Oonanjikonanji in the mountains around Nikko. In Shikoku and the northern part of the Kitakami Mountains, it is also told as the Nishiyama Little Hunter and the Higashiyama Great Hunter, and it seems to have spread throughout the mountains of the country in the past, and there are examples of two mountains, Manjiro-dake and Manzaburo-dake, side by side in the Amagi mountain range on the Izu Peninsula.
