Yoro Mountains - Yorosanchi

Yoro Mountains - Yorosanchi

The mountain range, which rises to the west of the Nobi Plain in the Chubu region and runs north to south, is about 30 kilometers long and 3 to 8 kilometers wide from east to west. Its southern part forms the border between Gifu and Mie prefectures. The flat surface of the peneplain is distributed on the mountain tops, with the highest peak in the north at 908 meters. The geology is Chichibu Mesozoic and Paleozoic strata, and it is a tilted land mass cut by a fault on the Nobi Plain side to the east, with a gentle slope on the west side. The fault scarp on the east side has been eroded to form a series of triangular end faces, and the foothills are lined with composite alluvial fans, with rivers generally becoming waterless rivers, and some becoming ceiling rivers. The alluvial fans in the north are mainly used for growing Fuyu persimmons, and in the south they are used for growing mandarin oranges. On the other hand, there are also many tourist destinations, such as Yoro Falls in the north, Mt. Tado in the south, and Tado Taisha Shrine at its foot.
