A former town in Adachi County in northern Fukushima Prefecture. The eastern part is in the lowlands on the left bank of the Abukuma River, and the western part is on the slopes of Mt. Adatara. Cities have developed in Yui and Shibukawa along the Rikuu Kaido (National Route 4), and it is connected to Nihonmatsu City and is connected to the Tohoku Main Line. Cultivation of rice, vegetables, and horticulture is thriving. In December 2005, it was incorporated into Nihonmatsu City along with Towa Town and Iwashiro Town in Adachi County. 44.35 km2 . 福島県北部,安達郡の旧町。東部は阿武隈(あぶくま)川左岸の低地,西部は安達太良山(あだたらやま)の斜面。陸羽街道(国道4号線)沿いの油井(ゆい),渋川に市街が発達,二本松市街と連続し,東北本線が通じる。水稲,蔬菜,園芸の栽培が盛ん。2005年12月安達郡東和町,岩代町と二本松市へ編入。44.35km2。1万2048人(2003)。
