Shuotsu

This hot spring resort is located in Gyeongseong County, North Hamgyong Province, North Korea. The hot springs are located in the sand bath and steam bath in Juil-ri in the Juilcheon Valley, 10 kilometers northwest of Juil Station on the Pyongna Line, and in Juil Onbo-ri upstream. The water is odorless, transparent, alkaline and contains radium. It is one of North Korea's leading hot springs, with a temperature of 58°C and a daily flow of about 90,000 liters. The Juilcheon River basin is known for its beautiful streams, and is home to an honorary war wounded hospital and a workers' rest center. Also near Juil Station there is an insulator factory and a ceramics factory that use the rich clay of Saenggiryeong.

北朝鮮、咸鏡北道(かんきょうほくどう／ハムギョンプクド)鏡城郡にある温泉地。温泉は平羅線朱乙駅から北西10キロメートルの朱乙川渓谷の朱乙里の砂風呂(ぶろ)、蒸し風呂と、上流の朱乙温堡里(おんほうり)にある。泉質は無臭透明のアルカリ性ラジウムを含む。温度は58℃、1日の泉量約9万リットルといわれる北朝鮮屈指の温泉地である。朱乙川流域は渓流美に優れており、栄誉戦傷者病院や労働者休養所がある。また朱乙駅付近には生気嶺(れい)の豊富な粘土による碍子(がいし)工場と陶磁器工場がある。
