Tadatomo Okubo

Tadatomo Okubo
1632-1712 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born on November 13, 1626. He was adopted by his cousin Okubo Tadamoto, and in 1667 he became the second head of the Okubo clan, which ruled Hizen Karatsu Domain (Saga Prefecture). He served Tokugawa Iemitsu closely, and in 1679 he became a senior councilor. The following year he was transferred to Sakura, Shimousa (Chiba Prefecture). In 1682 he became the first head of the second Okubo clan, which ruled Odawara Domain in Sagami (Kanagawa Prefecture). He was awarded a fief of 103,000 koku. He died on September 25, 1612, at the age of 81. He was commonly known as Mokko.

寛永9年11月13日生まれ。従兄大久保忠職(ただもと)の養子となり,寛文10年肥前唐津(からつ)藩(佐賀県)藩主大久保家2代。徳川家光に近侍し,延宝5年老中。翌年下総(しもうさ)佐倉(千葉県)に転封(てんぽう)。貞享(じょうきょう)3年相模(さがみ)(神奈川県)小田原藩主大久保家第2次初代となる。10万3000石。正徳(しょうとく)2年9月25日死去。81歳。通称は木工。
