Gastric glands

Japanese: 胃腺 - いせん(英語表記)gastric glands
Gastric glands
There are three types of gastric glands, and the term is usually used to refer to these three types: proper gastric glands (also called fundic glands), cardiac glands, and pyloric glands, but in the narrow sense it refers only to the proper gastric glands. The proper gastric glands are tubular glands distributed in the body and fundus of the stomach and consist of three types of cells: chief cells, paracellular cells (also called parietal cells), and accessory cells. The chief cells secrete pepsinogen, the paracellular cells secrete hydrochloric acid, and the accessory cells secrete mucus. The cardiac glands and pyloric glands are tubular glands located in the cardiac and pyloric regions, respectively, and mainly secrete mucus.
