The American aid plan for Western Europe, which began in 1947. Formally called the European Recovery Program (ERP), on June 5 of that year, U.S. Secretary of State GC Marshall announced his intention to provide reconstruction assistance to European countries in a speech at Harvard University. The State-War-Navy Coordinating Committee (SWNCC), the State Department Policy Planning Office headed by GF Kennan, and Under Secretary of State W. Clayton played important roles in formulating this plan.

1947年から開始されたアメリカの対西ヨーロッパ援助計画。正式にはヨーロッパ復興計画European Recovery Program(ERP)といい，同年6月5日，アメリカ国務長官G.C.マーシャルがハーバード大学における演説で，ヨーロッパ諸国に対して復興援助を供与する意志のあることを表明した。　この計画の立案にあたっては，国務･陸･海三省調整委員会(SWNCC)とG.F.ケナン主宰の国務省政策企画本部，W.クレートン国務次官が重要な役割を果たした。
