〘Noun〙 (also "kagakinu") Silk fabric produced in the Kaga region (southern Ishikawa Prefecture). It began in the Bunmei era ( 1469-87 ) and developed with the encouragement of Maeda Toshitsune. Throughout the Edo period, habutae (feathered silk) and tsumugi (pongee) were woven thanks to the proactive policies of the domain.
