Scutellaria - Golden
〘Noun〙① A perennial plant of the Lamiaceae family. It grows in eastern Siberia, northern China, and the northern part of the Korean peninsula. The stem reaches a height of 60cm, and bears numerous spikes of purple lip-shaped flowers at the top. Golden willow. ② The dried yellow root of Scutellaria baicalensis, containing orgonin and varicalin. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is used as a herbal medicine for fever, stomachache, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. [Isei Teikin Orai (mid-14th century)]
