…While rejoicing at the reunion with his father and mother, the younger brother, mourning his sister's death, executed Sansodayu by sawing her to death and enshrined a golden Jizo statue in Tango Province to mourn her soul. Even today, there are many legends and ruins of Anju and Zushio in Yura and Naoetsu in Tango, Kyoto Prefecture, and in Tsugaru there is a story called "Oiwaki-sama Ichidaiki" in which Anjuhime is the deity of Mt. Iwaki, told by a blind itako. In one corner of the grounds of Chosho-ji Temple, the family temple of the Tsugaru domain in Hirosaki, there is a meditation hall called Soryu-ji, and within it is a shrine hall called Hanamidou (built in the Momoyama period) that enshrines the local Buddhas of Mt. Iwaki's three shrines (Amida, Yakushi, and Kannon), and on either side of it are beautifully painted ancient statues of Anju and Zushio. …
