〘Noun〙 ("O" is a prefix) 1. An honorific for the family of a nobleman, feudal lord, etc. The house of a master or lord. Master's family. The part of the house that has flooring. Also, a room with tatami mats laid out. Also, originally it referred to the housewife's living room, and by extension it can also refer to a living room with tatami mats laid out. ※Joruri, Izuin Sen Genji Kagami (1741), 2: "Is it Sanzo's nap again?
