Anton-Babinski syndrome

...Tactile agnosia is the inability to recognize objects by touch, even though there is no impairment in either superficial or deep sensation. Special agnosias include Gerstmann syndrome, whose core symptom is finger agnosia; hemisosomatognosia, in which the inability to recognize one side of the body is impossible; somatotopic agnosia, in which the inability to recognize parts of the entire body is impossible; nociception, in which the inability to respond appropriately to painful stimuli despite feeling discomfort; and nosologic agnosia, in which the inability to acknowledge the existence of a disability such as blindness, deafness, or hemiplegia (Anton-Babinski syndrome or disease denial). In recent years, there has been a movement to interpret agnosia as a syndrome of disconnection between the sensory areas of the brain responsible for vision, hearing, touch, and pain, and the language areas that perceive these linguistically (Geschwind, 1962)....
