Giant midge - Oyurika

...They lay gelatinous egg masses on the water surface, and mature in about two weeks in summer. In lakes and marshes with severe eutrophication, Tokunagayusurika akamusi and giant midges can occur in large numbers. Tokunagayusurika akamusi is a black-brown adult with a body length of about 10 mm, and emerges in large numbers in late autumn.
