Pacific white-sided dolphin

Japanese: カマイルカ(鎌海豚) - カマイルカ（英語表記）Pacific white‐sided dolphin

A mammal of the Delphinidae family in the Toothed Whales suborder. A small dolphin with a short snout that is common in the temperate zone of the North Pacific Ocean. Adults reach a length of 2.2 to 2.3 meters. The back is black-brown, and the sides and belly are white. There is a black stripe that connects the corners of the mouth to the base of the pectoral fins and the anus. The forehead is thin and extends into the snout. The snout is short, but is separated from the forehead by a groove, with a clear border. There are 23 to 33 teeth on each side and top to bottom. There is a large dorsal fin almost in the center of the body, which is about 9% of the body length in height and has a sickle-blade-like gray-white rear edge, hence the name.
