Asian cholera bacteria

...The pathogen, Vibrio comma , is a comma-shaped gram-negative rod with a single flagellum at one end, measuring about 0.5 μm wide and 2 μm long. There are two types of Vibrio cholerae: Asian type (or classical type) and El Tor type. In the past, cholera was mostly caused by the former, but in recent years, it is mainly caused by the El Tor type.
[Symptoms]
The main symptom of cholera is diarrhea caused by the cholera toxin (cholera enterotoxin) produced by the cholera bacterium Vibrio cholerae.

…病原体であるコレラ菌Vibrio commaは欧文のコンマ(読点)状をしたグラム陰性の杆菌で，一端に1本の鞭毛（べんもう）をもち，幅0.5μm，長さ2μmくらいの大きさ。コレラ菌にはアジア型コレラ菌(または古典型コレラ菌)とエルトール型コレラ菌の2型があり，かつてのコレラは前者によるものが多かったが，近年のものは主としてエルトール型菌による。
