Flame light filtration photometry

...There are two methods of flame photometry: (1) spraying a liquid sample into a flame, selecting the wavelengths of light specific to each element from the resulting flame spectrum, and measuring the intensity electrically to perform quantitative analysis of the elements; and (2) placing a sample directly into the flame and observing the element with the naked eye or through cobalt glass, or using a simple direct viewing spectroscope to perform qualitative analysis of the elements (see the section on flame color reactions). In flame photometry, the method of using a spectroscope to select specific wavelengths of light is called flame spectrophotometry, and the method of using a filter is called flame filtration photometry or simply flame photometry (in the narrow sense). Flame filtration photometry is suitable for the rapid analysis of alkali metal elements and alkaline earth metal elements, but has difficulties in the analysis of other elements. ...
