Chuji Aoi

Japanese: 青井忠治 - あおいちゅうじ

1904-1975 A businessman from the Showa era.
Born on March 30, 1904. Moved to Tokyo and joined the installment sales specialist Maruni Shokai, and in 1931 established Marui and became independent. In 1946 after the war, restarted as a furniture retailer in Nakano, Tokyo. In 1950, the company resumed installment sales and grew its business as an installment department store. Died on August 18, 1975. Age 71. Born in Toyama Prefecture. Graduated from Takaoka Technical College.

明治37年3月30日生まれ。上京して月賦専門店丸二商会にはいり,昭和6年丸井をつくり独立。戦後21年東京中野で家具専門の小売店として再出発。25年月賦販売も再開,月賦百貨店として業績をのばす。昭和50年8月18日死去。71歳。富山県出身。高岡工芸卒。
