Born on March 30, 1904. Moved to Tokyo and joined the installment sales specialist Maruni Shokai, and in 1931 established Marui and became independent. In 1946 after the war, restarted as a furniture retailer in Nakano, Tokyo. In 1950, the company resumed installment sales and grew its business as an installment department store.
