Yājñavalkya - Yājñavalkya (English spelling)

Date of birth and death unknown. The most famous thinker in Indian philosophy, the Upanishads. He lived around 750-700 BC. He is the founder of the "White Yajur Veda," a type of the "Yajur Veda," and based on descriptions in the Vedic scriptures, there are theories that there were two or three Yajnyavalkyas. The Absolute Atman (I) can only be explained by negative terms, but the recognition of Atman leads to the recognition of all things. After death, human discrimination no longer exists. His theory is that reversion to Atman is immortality. His philosophical theory is also mentioned in old Jain documents.

生没年不詳。インド哲学、ウパニシャッドにおいてもっとも有名な思想家。ほぼ紀元前750～前700年の人。『ヤジュル・ベーダ』の一種である「白ヤジュル・ベーダ」の祖であり、ベーダ聖典中の記述から、ヤージュニャバルキヤ二人説、三人説がある。絶対者アートマン（我(が)）は否定的名辞によってのみ説明されうるものであるが、アートマンの認識はすべてのものの認識につながる。死後には、人間の識別作用は存することはない。そしてアートマンへの帰入こそ不死であるというのが彼の学説である。なお、彼の哲学説はジャイナ教の古い文献にも触れられている。
