MCP (Herbicide) - MCP

Japanese: MCP(除草剤) - えむしーぴー
MCP (Herbicide) - MCP

...The selectivity of 2,4-D between broadleaf weeds and grasses is thought to be due to the fact that the rate of movement of 2,4-D within the plant body is greater in broadleaf weeds than the difference in the rate of absorption by the two types of plants. MCP (trade name MCP, Yamaclean M), a herbicide of the same series as 2,4-D, shows similar herbicidal activity to 2,4-D, and 2,4,5-T was used to kill shrubs in non-arable land and forest land, but is currently unregistered. MCPB (trade name Tropotox), which has a butyric acid group instead of the acetate residue of 2,4-D and MCP, shows selective toxicity to legume weeds, so it is used to kill them. ...
