Henan [town] - Kanan

Japanese: 河南[町] - かなん

A former town in Monou County in the central eastern part of Miyagi Prefecture. It occupies the lowlands on the left bank of the downstream Kitakami River, and is a rice paddy area. The Ishinomaki Line runs through it. It is home to the Takaraga Mine ruins from the late Jomon period, and Asahiyama in the west is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Ishinomaki City along with the towns of Kahoku, Ogatsu, Monou, and Kitakami in Monou County, and Oshika Town in Oshika County. ^{69.33 km2} . Kanan [town] [Kanan]

A town in Minamikawachi County, southeastern Osaka Prefecture. Occupying the western foot of the Kongo Mountains, the town mainly produces rice and wheat, and cultivates mandarin oranges and grapes on the hills, as well as ornamental trees. The grave of Saigyo-hoshi is located at Kokawa-dera Temple. 25.26 ^km2 . Population: 17,040 (2010).
