…Epinephrine, also known as epinephrine, is one of the catecholamines, which are amines produced from aromatic amino acids. In 1896, Oliver G. Oliver and Schäfer EA Schäfer of England extracted a blood pressure-increasing substance from the adrenal glands, which Ebel J. Abel isolated as a benzoyl compound and named epinephrine. In 1901, Takamine Jokichi and Aldrich TB Aldrich succeeded in crystallizing it, and Takamine named it adrenaline (the patent name at the time). …

Insulin was discovered in 1921 by F. G. Banting and CH. Best in pancreatic extracts as a hypoglycemic substance. In 1926, J. Abel succeeded in crystallizing it, and in 1955, F. Sanger revealed its amino acid sequence. Insulin was the first protein whose amino acid sequence was determined.
