...At the age of 21, he was given a gambling turf and became a gambling boss. In 1834 (Tenpo 5), he became famous when he killed fellow gambler Shimamura Isaburo in a turf dispute. In 1842, he was raided by the Kanto Torishosho during a gambling den and barely escaped, but he suspected that his subordinate Asajiro (commonly known as Itawari no Asataro) had informed them, so he had Asajiro kill Kansuke, Kan's uncle and the gambler's henchman, and his son Tarokichi. Since then, he has been pursued by the Torishoshosho and has gone into hiding, from Mount Akagi to the Shinshu region and elsewhere. ...
