Freight conference

Freight conference
Usually, it is used synonymously with the shipping conference organization formed by shipowners of international liner routes. This is because all international shipping agreements have freight rate agreements between the members, and freight rates are determined and changed through discussions between the members. However, in the European liner routes, the share of non-member shipping companies has increased significantly, weakening the conference. In the North American liner routes, the alliance shipping companies and non-member shipping companies cooperate to establish a mechanism for adjusting transportation capacity. (→Shipping Conference)
